Manhattan
Isaac Davis, 42 anni, due ex mogli e un figlio, un lavoro che odia e una ragazza 17enne, Tracy, che crede di non amare perché ha paura che il legame con la studentessa lo renda ridicolo. Poi conosce l'intellettuale e nervrotica Mary, amante suo migliore amico Yale. La donna, dopo esser stata lasciata da Yale, stravolgerà la vita di Isaac, fino a quando non deciderà di tornare con Yale.
