Dopo "Shoah", nel 2013 Lanzmann decide di realizzare un film su Benjamin Murmelstein, l'ultimo decano del Consiglio Ebraico del ghetto di Theresienstadt (o Terezin) recuperando la lunga intervista filmata che gli aveva fatto quando era esule a Roma.
